  • ABOUT

French double bass player based in Paris, related to the family of XIX french composer H.Berlioz, he has spread his sound alongside with many great musicians over the world.

As he got to know the instrument, its relation to Jazz and in a more larger way to music through lessons with bass masters such as Ben Street, Dennis Irwin, he tends to reach the realm where the bass is being played with a beautiful sense of time, space, clearness, supportive while creative for the band.

Writing his own music had bring him to put out 3 records as a band leader (his two drums sextet) and 3 as a co-leader (FOX, Belleville Project) on several prestigious labels (Freshsound, Sunnyside, Jazz &People).

While his compositions had been qualified poetic, energetic, melodic by critics, they also acclaimed his ability to bring a large variety of coulors in his writing.

Inspired by wide range of styles such as folk/rock, free, music for films, french classical music... his last record "Fall somewhere" had received the very prestigious grammy Grand prix du disque Charles Cros as the jazz record of the year 2013.

FOX had been nominated "Revelation" at french TV/Radio grammys Victoires de la musique in 2016, both FOX and Belleville Project had been granted by FAJE of Mid Atlantic Art Fondation, and ADAMI.

Active in many bands as a sideman, his name had been associated to Tigran Hamasyan, Jeff Ballard, Chris Cheek, Jorge Rossy, Bill McHenry, Jeremy Udden, Robert Stillman, Pierre Perchaud, Pedro Martins...
